2 Wire & IP Hybrid Door Entry Specification

System Overview

The main purpose of the door entry system is to allow audio and video communication between visitors and the residents or the Concierge switchboard. The door entry system shall be Secured by Design accredited using UL293 certified products.

The door entry system shall be a hybrid 2-wire and IP system. Visitor entry panels shall be IP and apartment video monitors and riser shall be 2 wire and connected using a single twisted pair of a Cat5e cable. Systems that rely on additional cables for power shall not be acceptable. The system shall be isolated with circuit protection.

The door entry system shall be fully integrated with the access control system. All door entry events shall be logged such as apartment called, access granted by apartment, time, date. Events shall be live and recorded via the access control system. The door entry system shall also be capable of lift management with destination control for visitors.

The system shall be capable of forwarding a call to a resident’s smartphone by the addition of a multiuser call forwarding device connected to the system. A building internet connection either via ethernet or Wi-Fi is required. The multiuser call forwarding device shall be centrally managed so that the building manager can add/edit/delete users. Systems that allow the resident to manage their own connection via the apartment video monitor shall not be acceptable. The call forwarding app shall be free to download and be available for iOS and Android devices. Call forwarding shall be licence free.

Elekta Steel Overview

The visitor entry panel shall be UL293 certified. The Secured by Design accreditation must cover the actual location of the visitor entry panel e.g. within adjacent wall or other structurally sound fixing.

The entry panel shall be the UL293 certified Urmet Elekta Steel IPerCom IP stainless steel digital video panel part number 1060/19. The panel shall be connected to the network using an RJ45 Ethernet connector. The panel shall be PoE powered. The panel shall have a 3.5” colour display with user instructions and block name. The panel shall have an illuminated keypad and programmable buttons for Trades and Concierge. The panel shall be capable of direct dial calling and block selection, prefix dialling codes will not be acceptable. The panel shall be DDA compliant with status icons for “call in progress”, “please speak” and “door open”. The panel shall have a wide-angle 1200 camera lens and LED camera illumination. The panel shall include an integral proximity reader aperture and coded access keypad. The panel shall be IP45 and IK09 rated. The panel shall be secured with security fixings.

The video monitor handset shall be the Urmet Miro 2Voice 2 wire video monitor part number 1750/1. The video monitor shall be manufactured from ABS plastic and finished in gloss white. The video monitor shall have a 4.3” 16:9 colour display. The video monitor shall have a clearly marked 17mm lock release button and 3 additional auxiliary buttons for special functions and Switchboard call. The video monitor shall have an LED to indicate the following: main and secondary door open and mute. The video monitor shall have programmable ring tones and adjustable call tone volume. The video monitor shall be fitted with an induction loop as standard. Desk mount kits shall be available. The handset shall have dip switch programming.
