Site topology and configuration considerations

To configure an IPerCom system the layout of the site and the location of devices must be known. The IPerCom configuration process involves adding devices to the site configuration by MAC address.

Topology

When setting up an IPerCom/IPerCloud system the topology must be defined.  The topology specifies the entrance and apartment structure of a building and needs to be created when configuring an IPerCom system.  The topology is important as the position of devices in the topology will affect entrance panel and apartment monitor functionality.

When configuring a system each device must be added to a specific topological node (site, block, stair, floor, or apartment).  Therefore the location and function of each device must be known.

Commissioning sheet

Before a system is configured we recommend filling in the commissioning sheet for all devices.  This involves removing one of QR code MAC address stickers from the back of the device and applying it to the commissioning sheet and filling in the details.  More details can be found here: https://support.urmet.co.uk/how-to-fill-out-ipercom-commissioning-sheets
