How to Create Easy Door Deactivation Tokens (Keys) for Mifare Classic

This article shows you how to create a deactivation token (key) for Mifare Classic fobs using the Easy Door website.

You may wish to make sure that Mifare Classic fobs are disabled on your Easy Door system for one of two reasons:

  1. There is a cloning issue with older technology key fobs across many manufacturing sectors.
  2. You need to issue new fobs to a group of residents and the modern key fob option is Mifare+ (with anti-clone 128-bit AES encryption).

Use the video walk-through below to learn how to create a Deactivation Key online:

We've broken down the steps for you below so you can refer back to these at any time:

Step 1 Start by opening the site with the specific door you wish to edit and then click the ‘Edit’ symbol next to the door that is in question (e.g., ‘Pedestrian Gate’).
Step 2 Place a fob on the management reader and click the icon 'Create an activation key for Mifare Classic' - An 'Encoding' message will be displayed after this.
Step 3 Finally, click 'OK' once you receive a final message saying 'Encoding completed'. Now you can move onto site programming.

As with enabling Mifare Classic fobs, it requires both remote programming using the Easy Door website and some site programming. Learn how to program your deactivation key using the following article:
