How to Fault Find 2Voice 2 Wire Systems
This article tells you how to fault find if your 2Voice system has no calls, no picture or no speech (either one way or in both directions).
Use the following information for individual monitor faults (i.e., other monitors within the system are working normally) - Follow each step in order:
Step 1
Check that the monitor is not set to 'mute' - see the user instructions for the monitor.
Step 2
Check that the DIP switches have been set correctly and that the termination jumper is on.
Step 3
Measure DC volts at the LINE x connection of the 1083/55 Distributor where the monitor is connected. The reading should be between 38V and 48V DC. If it is not then disconnect the LINE x connection, wait two minutes and re-measure DC volts at the LINE connector. If the voltage is now correct, the fault is either the cable or the monitor (or wall bracket).
Step 4
Swap the monitor for a know working monitor
Step 5
Swap the wall bracket (where fitted) for a know working unit.
Step 6
At the 1083/55 video distributor, disconnect the LINE x connection where the monitor in question is connected. Take the monitor (and wall bracket) from the apartment and connect on a new short piece of cable directly to the video distributor.
