What Are the Different Types of Easy Door Tokens (Keys)?
This article outlines the different token (key) types you can program for an Easy Door system.
You can program a fob (key) to perform multiple functions and it is important to understand what the 3 different types of keys are and what they do.
The 3 different key types are:
- Configuration Key
- Update Key
- Timer Key
Use the table below to find out more about of the three keys:
Configuration Key | Used to upload changes or to resend the configuration of the controller. This could be the building name, the door name or the lock release time. You can use a standard Mifare+ fob for this purpose. |
Update Key | Used to encode one or more keys containing the configuration of the door and the keys with access to it. This could be because a batch of keys needs replacing or the door controller has been replaced or even to make sure all data on the controller is up to date with all changes. |
Timer Key | Used to set the time and date on a controller. With your Easy Door configuration online, having the ability to see events and set timed access to doors, you need to be able to set the correct time and date to your controller for these functions to work correctly. For example, it’s no good to tell a door that it needs free access at 09:00 – 10:00 in the morning if the clock on the controller thinks its midnight in the year 1973. |
